Married : Tara + Brian
I stood in line staring at my shoes wondering if I should have worn a different pair. Tall wedges aren't really my style and I could hardly walk but I wanted to impress Tara for our first introduction. I glanced repeatedly at my phone waiting for her text to let me know she had arrived. I played it safe and got a green tea as opposed to my normal one of everything. I stood off to the side waiting for the barista to perfect my order and we made eye contact. Not the barista, Tara.. Realizing she had been in line behind me the entire time I squealed like a third grade school girl and wrapped my arms around her neck. We laughed and took a seat, started discussing how she and Brian met, how he proposed, their wedding plans and how much she adored her nieces and nephew. I was blown away by her poise and calmness as she explained to me that she and Brian met through mutual friends and he was deployed for the Navy. I could see in her eyes how deeply she missed him and I could hear in her voice how anxious she was to have him home and call him her husband. It takes a special type of woman to marry a military man and the more time I spent with her the more I could see exactly why Brian had fallen madly in love with her. I couldn't wait to be a part of their day as they committed themselves to one another among their closest family and friends who so selflessly serve and sacrifice for this country. I carry a deep respect for both Brian and Tara and feel so honored to now call them my friends. Congratulations guys, you did it!!!
